Dudley Carers Alliance is all about giving you the carer a voice. We are passionate about carers rights and pledge to ensure that the voice of the carer is always heard and indeed listened to across Dudley borough. The Alliance works hard to collect information and opinions from local carers and shares this  with statutory and other organisations, both local and national, relating to carer issues.

We work in partnership with other local forums and organisations who are keen to ensure that the views of our carers are represented and are taken on board when local services are being shaped.

Key local forums include:

Dudley Carers Forum

A group of carers that meet every month to exchange information and support. Each meeting has an ‘action time’ to take concerns and questions which can then be taken forward if required. Safeguarding and befriending are at the very heart of the forum.

The group meet on the first Wednesday of each month at Bank St Brierley Hill Methodist Church from 11am to 2pm lunch and refreshments are available.

We also have a Dudley Carers Forum Social Club and carers and their cared for are welcome to join the group in their activities into the community.

Working together for change

Working together for change is Dudley’s parent carer forum. The group is an independent group of parent carers of children and young people (aged 0-25) with disabilities and additional needs. A safe environment is provided for parent carers of children with disabilities or additional needs to share their thoughts and concerns and to empower them to have their voices heard in a way that influences change and service design.

Members of the forum  work together with the aim of ensuring that the voices of parent and carers are heard. The aim is  to ensure that all parents and carers in Dudley borough are equipped with the knowledge and skills to influence change.

This group aims to

• Listen with empathy

• Influence policy development.
